Hot Buttered Rum and Tea Toddy

Prep Time:

5 minutes

Yield:

1 serving + extra spiced butter

Make a batch of this spiced butter to keep in the fridge, because it’s always the right time for a buttered rum hot toddy.

Ingredients

  • 1 stick (4 ounces) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 2 ounces dark or aged rum
  • 1 Luzianne® Unsweet Tea Single Serve Cup, freshly brewed
  • Cinnamon stick, for garnish (optional)
  • Orange twist, for garnish

Directions

  1. COMBINE butter, sugar, vanilla extract and spices in a bowl and beat with a hand-held mixer until well combined. In a heat-proof glass or mug, add rum and 2 tablespoons of the spiced butter mixture. (Remaining butter can be stored in airtight container in refrigerator for future use.)
  2. TOP with hot tea and stir until ingredients are well incorporated. Garnish with cinnamon stick and orange twist.
