Apple cider and sweet tea are a natural pairing, just in time for fall and football. Easy to make by the gallon, this party-size recipe for apple sweet tea brings a hint of fall flavor to tailgates, watch parties and weekends spent outside.
Ingredients
- 12 cups Luzianne Sweet Tea
- 2 cups frozen apple cider concentrate, thawed*
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 2 apples, cored and chopped, for garnish
- 2 lemons, sliced, for garnish
- Cinnamon sticks, for garnish
- 4 cups ice, for serving
Directions
- Combine the tea, cider concentrate, cinnamon, lemon juice, half of the chopped apples, half of the lemon slices and 2 cinnamon sticks in a 2-gallon drink dispenser (or multiple pitchers) and stir well.
- To serve, fill glasses with ice, add the tea, and garnish with chopped apples, lemon slices and cinnamon sticks.
- *TIP: You can substitute 2 cups of homemade boiled apple cider for the thawed frozen apple cider concentrate. To make, bring a gallon of fresh apple cider to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, turn the heat to low and let it simmer for 5 to 6 hours, stirring it about every half hour. Starting around the fifth hour, stir it every 15 minutes. When the gallon of cider has reduced down to 2 cups, remove from the heat. Chill before using.
