Watermelon Syrup

Cook Time:

25 minutes

Yield:

2 cups

There are so many ways to enjoy this watermelon syrup, which you can make from fresh, ripe watermelon in minutes. Blend, strain, and simmer – then use it as a delicious mixer to add to iced tea drinks, spritzers, and cocktails.

Ingredients

  • 2-3 cups fresh seedless watermelon, cut into chunks
  • ½ cup granulated sugar

Directions

  1. Place the watermelon chunks in a blender and puree; strain the liquid to remove any remaining solids.
  2. Measure out 2 cups of the juice and combine it with the sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring it to a simmer, stirring occasionally; cook and stir until the mixture has reduced by half and becomes syrupy, about 25 minutes
  3. Remove from heat. Once cool, transfer the syrup to a glass jar or other resealable container and store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
