Watermelon Syrup

Cook Time:

25 minutes

Yield:

2 cups

There are so many ways to enjoy this watermelon syrup, which you can make from fresh, ripe watermelon in minutes. Blend, strain, and simmer – then use it as a delicious mixer to add to iced tea drinks, spritzers, and cocktails.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh watermelon juice, strained to remove seeds and pulp
  • ½ cup granulated sugar

Directions

  1. Combine watermelon juice and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat and bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally; cook and stir until the mixture has reduced by half and becomes syrupy, about 25 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat. Once cool, transfer to a glass jar or other resealable container and store in refrigerator for up to 5 days.
