Spiked Tea and Watermelon Punch

Make Watermelon Ice Cubes ahead of time to give this rum-based iced tea punch a delicious twist, perfect for a summer garden party, a tailgate, or any Southern celebration.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups fresh watermelon, cut into pieces
  • 1 1/ teaspoons sugar (or honey)
  • 16 ounces brewed and chilled Luzianne® Iced Tea
  • 1/3 cup rum
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons Mint Syrup
  • 4 small sprigs fresh mint, for garnish
  • Lemon wedges, for garnish
 

Directions

  1. Make Watermelon Ice Cubes: Combine watermelon chunks and sugar in the bowl of a high-speed blender and blend until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve and pour the strained watermelon juice into ice cube trays. Freeze for at least 4 hours and up to overnight. Transfer to a resealable container or plastic bag and store in the freezer for up to 3 months.
  2. Combine tea, rum, lemon juice and Mint Syrup in a pitcher and stir well.
  3. Pour into cocktail glasses filled with Watermelon Ice Cubes and garnish with mint springs lemon wedges.
