Thunder Over Louisville is the opening event of the Kentucky Derby Festival. The official 2026 event is set for Saturday, April 18 at Waterfront Park, with a day-long schedule that includes the air show, drone and night show, and a large fireworks finale over the Ohio River.

Porchfest is a free neighborhood music festival in the Virginia-Highland district of Atlanta. The official site says the event brings together up to 100 local bands, food trucks, and vendors, and invites roughly 40,000 attendees for a day of live music and community activity.

Taste of Charlotte is a three-day food festival in Uptown Charlotte on Tryon Street. The official site describes it as Charlotte’s largest food festival, with restaurant samples, entertainment, activities, and free admission.
